Government Ministers, Eric Pickles and Vince Cable, confirm to LEP Chairs that Local Funding programmes covering infrastructure,skills development and SME support will be considered
The Government launched the 3rd round of the Regional Growth Fund (RGF) on 23rd February with an allocation of up to £1 billion to deliver sustainable jobs and growth, especially where new private sector investment is needed to balance the reliance on public sector employment. The RGF can be used to fund discrete projects or support programmes.

The Swindon & Wiltshire LEP recently launched its Growing Places Infrastructure Fund with applications accepted up to 31st May 2012. In last weeks Budget, Chancellor, George Osborne, increased the size of the fund by a further £3.04m to just under £9.4m.

The Swindon & Wiltshire LEP is one of five successful Partnerships chosen by DEFRA to pilot Rural Growth Networks
The Chancellor's Autumn Statement outlined a package of measures, confirmed in last week's Budget, to support growth in rural businesses. £15 million has been allocated across England to support five pilots - with Swindon & Wiltshire providing one of those schemes.
